Neighborhood
Housing Services (NHS) of Beloit is a private, not-for-profit
corporation established in 1979, dedicated to strengthening
neighborhoods by providing affordable homebuying opportunities and
related homeownership services. Originally established
in Beloit’s eastside (Merrill) neighborhood, NHS has since expanded its
priority areas to include the Westside (Hackett), Shore Drive, and
Eastside (Beloit College) neighborhoods. Over the years NHS has
created public, private and community partnerships that have helped to
build healthier neighborhoods through education, counseling, lending,
and real estate development in Beloit. NHS is also a
chartered member of NeighborWorks®
America,
a
national nonprofit organization created by Congress to provide
financial support, technical assistance, and training for
community-based revitalization efforts.
